Mexica Center

The Project

The Mexica Center will be a 19,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art building. The center will include  wrestling mats, a weight room, and of course, a boxing gym. Going beyond athletics, the center will include classrooms and a library/learning lab, providing a safe space for mentoring, tutoring, and building healthy relationships. In addition to the athletic areas and classrooms, there will also be community rooms and a workshop where participants will be able to engage in a 7-week program, introducing them to different trades and giving them hands-on work experience.

The Goals

Goal #1: Youth Achieve and Sustain a 3.5 GPA

  • Our objective is to empower our youth to excel academically and in life. By achieving and sustaining a 3.5 GPA, we aim to provide them with the tools they need to access higher education and establish a pattern of setting and achieving ambitious goals, ultimately fostering a lifelong commitment to excellence and personal growth.

Goal #2: 100% of youth will articulate a noticeable improvement in their sense of self-autonomy, self-image, and empowerment.

  • Our goal of building strong men and women of tomorrow goes far beyond physical fitness and academic achievement; we believe that when young people have the tools to understand their emotions, advocate for themselves, and see their own potential, they will be equipped to build healthier lives and communities.

GOAL #3: 100% OF OUR STUDENTS WILL GRADUATE FROM THE CENTER WITH A POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION PLAN.

  • Our ultimate goal is to our youth participants to choose their path in life. We do that by steering them away from high-risk behaviors and towards a brighter, more promising future. By focusing on a post-secondary education plan, whether that be college, trade school, military, or joining the workforce, we aim to create a positive ripple effect that extends to various aspects of their lives, their families, and our community.
