Mexica Center

Community

At the Mexica Community Center, we believe strong communities are built when people show up for one another. Through our Community pillar, participants take part in monthly volunteer experiences designed to instill the values of service, responsibility, and giving back.

Each month, youth and mentors work side-by-side to support local initiatives, whether that means helping at community events, assisting other nonprofits, or contributing to our neighborhood in a meaningful way. These experiences encourage participants to take pride in their community while developing leadership, teamwork, and a lifelong commitment to service.

Service is a core value at the Mexica Community Center. Our youth take pride in giving back to the community that supports them. Whether volunteering at local events, supporting other nonprofits, or helping neighbors in need, participants consistently show a strong desire to make a positive impact. These experiences strengthen relationships, build leadership skills, and reinforce the idea that every individual has the power to contribute to something greater than themselves.

Why Community matters

What we do

Our community service projects change each month depending on the needs of our community. Participants collectively contribute hundreds of volunteer hours each year throughout Weld County.

Activities may include:

  • Supporting local nonprofit events
  • Hosting food drives and donation efforts
  • Volunteering with partner organizations
  • Feeding the homeless in our community
